Bass Media Equipment Checkout is an iniative run by the Student Technology Collaborative, and staffed and supported by Bass Library. We invite Yale students, faculty, and staff to borrow cameras, audio equipment, laptops, and more for use in curricular or personal projects at no cost. Equipment must be picked up or dropped off while the Bass Library Services Desk is open; hours can be found here.

You may request a laptop for up to 28 days. If your request is longer than 28 days, please submit your reservation request and we will get back to you soon.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to get admin access to this computer, your first login MUST be while the computer is within range of the YaleSecure Wi-Fi network; i.e. on campus. After the first login, the computer should set your login credentials as an admin, allowing you to download programs onto the laptop. Failure to log in for the first time while near YaleSecure will cause you to be unable to install any programs onto the computer or customize it in any way. Only students will have admid access; faculty and staff will not have admin access, but will be able to use MyApps and a handful of pre-installed software.

All user data will be deleted upon check-in. Please make sure to back up any personal data before returning laptop to the Bass Library circulation desk.
